Apache ActiveMQ

Multi-protocol, Java-based open source message broker.

Visit Apache ActiveMQ

Apache ActiveMQ is an open source, Java-based message broker that supports industry-standard protocols including AMQP, STOMP over WebSockets, MQTT, and JMS. It addresses the need to connect applications written in different languages and platforms, exchange messages between web applications, manage IoT devices, and support existing JMS infrastructure. It can be deployed as a standalone process or embedded within applications, and offers high availability through shared storage and master-slave broker pairing, message load balancing across connected brokers, and enterprise integration patterns via Apache Camel routes deployed directly on the broker.

The broker provides a pluggable architecture with partial Jakarta Messaging 3.1 and JMS 2.0 support, full JMS 1.1 support, and a full client implementation including JNDI. Persistence options include KahaDB and JDBC. Clients are available for JavaScript, C, C++, Python, .NET, and other languages and platforms. ActiveMQ is distributed under the Apache License 2.0 as open source software, with no paid editions, free plan, or trial described.
