KeyDB

The Faster Redis Alternative

Visit KeyDB

KeyDB is an open-source, in-memory database that keeps compatibility with Redis while using a multithreaded architecture. It is designed to handle heavy workloads on a single node with low latency, and it supports strings, hashes, lists, sets, sorted sets, bitmaps, hyperloglogs, geospatial indexes, and streams. Persistence can be configured through RDB snapshots or AOF command logging.

Scaling and availability options include vertical scaling on one node, active replication, and cluster mode with sharding, along with active-replica failover. KeyDB also provides an MVCC non-blocking architecture for concurrent snapshot queries, cross-region multi-master replication with last-write-wins, subkey expiration with active deletion, TLS encryption, and ModJS, a JavaScript module built on the V8 engine for creating custom commands. Downloads are available as Docker images and DEB/RPM packages, with source code hosted on GitHub.
