evcc

Open-source controller for EV charging and home energy management.

Visit evcc

evcc is an open-source electric vehicle charge controller and home energy management system that runs locally on user-owned hardware such as a Raspberry Pi or a NAS/server via Docker. It coordinates wallboxes, heat pumps, home batteries, inverters, and other devices from different manufacturers, using grid feed-in, solar production, house consumption, and battery or vehicle state to charge when power is cheapest or greenest.

Its capabilities include surplus charging, dynamic electricity tariff scheduling, charging plans with departure times and target levels, battery boost, heat pump activation, §14a-ready grid-operator power reduction with documented interventions, and load management across multiple charging points. It integrates with a broad range of supported wallboxes, vehicles, inverters, storage systems, smart switches, heat pumps, and energy meters, and offers a responsive web interface with light and dark modes plus iOS and Android companion apps for remote monitoring and control.

evcc is intended for homeowners and installers who want local, manufacturer-independent energy management. It is open source and community-funded, with development supported through a sponsorship model; the project invites contributions through its forum, Slack, and GitHub.
