Request Tracker

Open source ticketing and request tracking software.

Visit Request Tracker

Request Tracker (RT) is an open-source ticketing and help desk system developed by Best Practical Solutions. It solves the problem of managing workflows, customer requests, and internal project tasks by replacing shared inboxes and spreadsheets with a centralized system. RT supports seamless email integration, custom ticket lifecycles, configurable automation, and detailed permissions and roles.

Key features include AI capabilities such as suggested replies, ticket summaries, sentiment detection, and smart routing, along with an RT MCP Server for querying tickets from AI assistants. Users can bring their own AI engine, including OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, or Microsoft Copilot, with data remaining private. RT offers over 400 extensions and modules like RTIR for incident response. It can be deployed as a managed cloud service on AWS, on-premise, or self-hosted.

RT is designed for organizations of all sizes, from small teams to large enterprises. Cloud RT is offered on a seat-based subscription with plans starting from a small number of users. A 14-day free trial is available without requiring a credit card. Academic institutions receive a discount, and non-profits also receive a discount. On-premise deployments are supported through separate support plans.
