Monzo is a UK-regulated bank that brings current accounts, savings, credit, investments, pensions and mortgage tools into a single mobile app. It addresses everyday money management through Pots for budgeting and bills, Salary Sorter for dividing income, round-ups that move spare change into savings, and fee-free spending abroad with live exchange rates and a currency converter.
Core features include up to 20 Pots per account with Direct Debits and standing orders paid from a Bills Pot, a bills calendar that forecasts repeating payments, cashback offers, auto-invest habits, and ISAs. Security controls cover card freeze, remote logout, Call Status verification, 3D Secure, and virtual card numbers. Support is available through in-app chat around the clock, and eligible deposits are FSCS protected.
Monzo serves UK residents across personal, joint, under-16s and business accounts, with age and eligibility criteria varying by product. The current account is free, while paid plans named Extra, Perks and Max add features such as virtual cards, boosted savings rates and insurance; a separate Aura credit card carries a monthly fee.
