Gingko Writer is a tree-structured document editor that breaks writing into small cards arranged in a hierarchy, letting users move from notes to outline to draft in a single view. It addresses the difficulty of keeping a large writing project organized without becoming overwhelming, by keeping the big picture and details visible together and allowing writing and organizing to happen at the same time.
Cards can be nested and rearranged as the document grows, and the editor supports Markdown, keyboard shortcuts, and flexible pasting options. When a draft is complete, it can be exported to common formats. Gingko Writer runs as a web app.
It is aimed at writers working on long-form projects such as novels, theses, and academic or technical papers, as well as those outlining articles, scripts, and other structured content.
