The Agora (Agora of Flancia)

A free knowledge commons where community contributions are gathered by matching titles

Visit The Agora (Agora of Flancia)

The Agora of Flancia is a community knowledge commons that brings together notes and writing from many contributors. Contributions are linked by matching titles, called nodes: when one person links to a topic and another contributes a file with that filename, both surface at the same Agora location. The project is in active development, and joining requires a human-reviewed application.

Contributors can contribute self-hosted digital gardens stored in Git repositories, with support for formats including Markdown, Obsidian, Foam, Logseq, Hugo, Jekyll, and Org-mode. Posts can also be contributed from the Fediverse, Bluesky, and Matrix by following Agora bots and using wikilinks. The interface offers search, wikilink expansion, Wikipedia integration, graph labels, an annotations sidebar, keyboard shortcuts, shared documents, meeting spaces, and AI-generated assistance from multiple providers.

The Agora is aimed at people maintaining personal knowledge bases or writing who want their work to surface alongside contributions from others. Browsing does not require a password; editing requires signing in. The join form accepts a username, email, Git repository URL, and garden format, with an optional published URL and a message explaining the reason for joining.
