Sandstorm

Sandstorm is an open source platform for self-hosting web-based productivity apps on servers you control. It addresses the difficulty of running open source web applications securely and with minimal administration, providing a single place to install apps, manage data, and control access. Each item of content created in an app, such as a document or chat room, is treated as a "grain" that runs in its own sandbox and is private by default until shared.

The platform provides single sign-on, unified sharing and access control, and a Powerbox interface for connecting apps and granting permissions. The App Market offers apps for document editing, chat, task management, file storage, email, code hosting, and more, including Rocket.Chat, Davros, Wekan, and Etherpad. Additional features include cross-app search, notifications, grain backups, automatic signed updates, and auditable access with revocation. Sandstorm can run on your own machines or on cloud hosting.

Sandstorm is intended for individuals, businesses, and developers packaging apps for the platform. It is open source and community-maintained, with source code available on GitHub; no specific pricing or plan structure is described.
