CodeSandbox
Instant Cloud Development Environments
CodeSandbox is a cloud development platform for creating, running, and sharing isolated development environments called sandboxes. It addresses the need to execute code in secure, isolated VMs without affecting local systems, supporting use cases such as AI agents, code interpretation, parallel development environments, and CI/CD test runs.
The CodeSandbox SDK provides APIs for programmatically spinning up, cloning, and restoring sandboxes on microVM infrastructure, with snapshots for resuming work after inactivity and configurable hibernation. Other features include Sandpack for live coding in the browser, a Storybook Integration, a VS Code Extension, and templates for starting with common stacks. The platform supports running untrusted code in isolation, forking sandboxes for A/B testing agents, and running evals and tests inside sandboxes.
CodeSandbox is aimed at developers, teams, and organizations building AI agents, code playgrounds, and scalable development environments. It offers a free starting plan alongside paid options, with a trial available for evaluation.
