Publii

A free desktop CMS for blogs, portfolios, documentation sites and other content-focused

Visit Publii

Publii is a free, open-source desktop CMS for building static websites locally. Content is written on your computer and compiled into a static site, eliminating the need for a database, PHP, a public admin panel, or tracking scripts by default.

The app offers block, WYSIWYG, and Markdown editors, along with media management for posts, authors, and tags. It generates semantic HTML with SEO settings including metadata, sitemaps, structured data, and Open Graph support, plus performance features like image lazy loading, minification, and WebP conversion. Privacy tools include an advanced cookie banner and consent controls. Publishing supports GitHub Pages, GitLab Pages, Netlify, Amazon S3, Google Cloud, FTP, SFTP, and manual deployment. Themes use Handlebars templates, and plugins add analytics, search, comments, and third-party integrations.

Publii is aimed at creators, developers, and non-technical users building blogs, portfolios, documentation sites, and other content-focused websites. It runs on Windows 10+, macOS 12+, and Linux (64-bit). The software is free and open source under GPL-3.0, with optional donations and sponsorships to support development.
