HelpNDoc

Help authoring tool for help files, manuals and eBooks from a single source

Visit HelpNDoc

HelpNDoc is a help authoring tool for Windows that lets writers create documentation in one project and export it to multiple formats, including CHM help files, responsive HTML sites, Word DocX, PDF, ePub and Kindle eBooks, Markdown, and Qt Help. It combines a word processor, table of contents editor, keywords editor, and a media library for reusable assets such as images, videos, variables, and snippets.

The tool includes a template system for customizing output, batch and conditional generation, an advanced project analyzer, and a hyperlink analyzer. AI features include an AI Assistant, an AI Project Management Agent, and a built-in MCP server that connects compatible external AI clients to the open project. Markdown can be imported and exported, and PDF output supports compression, encryption, font embedding, and permissions.

HelpNDoc is aimed at technical writers and teams producing software documentation, user manuals, and eBooks. It is available as a free, fully functional version with banners, alongside Standard, Professional, and Ultimate editions that remove banners and add features such as priority support, image editing, build actions, and document signing. Licenses are offered as named or floating, with one year of updates and premium support included with purchase.
