Dropserver

An application platform for your personal web services.

Visit Dropserver

Dropserver is an open source server for hosting multiple small web-based applications on your own hardware, aimed at individuals, families, clubs, and small businesses rather than at scaling an application to many users. It provides a single place to install and access applications, with appspaces that can be shared with invited collaborators, and it lets applications and their data be exported and moved to a new server.

Each application runs in a sandbox that cannot read files from disk or contact the internet unless the user explicitly grants that permission. For developers, Dropserver supplies user management and authentication, private and public routes, file storage and static asset serving, data migration hooks with backup and import, and a local development environment, so only application logic needs to be written. It runs on Linux and macOS.

Dropserver is open source and self-hosted, with no hosted plan or trial described. The project is under active development, and the current release is 0.14.5. The available application catalog is small, with examples including Leftovers and Shopping List, and the project notes that early adopters are likely to be people building their own apps.
