Diffchecker

Compare text, files, and code to find differences online or offline.

Visit Diffchecker

Diffchecker is a comparison tool for text, code, data, documents, images, spreadsheets, and folders. It runs in the browser with no install or account required, and also offers a desktop app for offline comparisons where files stay on the user's machine.

The text comparison workspace includes side-by-side and unified views, adjustable diff precision, syntax highlighting, custom ignore rules, a real-time editor, merge changes, PDF export, saved comparisons shared by link, inline comments, and an AI difference summary. Document comparison covers Word, PDF, and PowerPoint files with OCR, moved-content detection, and redline output; image comparison supports multiple view modes and EXIF metadata; spreadsheet comparison handles XLSX, XLS, CSV, TSV, and ODS with formula change detection. The desktop app adds folder and batch comparison, Git and Microsoft Word add-in integrations, and offline operation on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Diffchecker Legal adds iManage Cloud integration, and an API connects to HTTPS endpoints for embedding the comparison engine.

Diffchecker is used by developers, writers and editors, and data and operations teams. It is packaged as a free Basic plan, a Pro + Desktop plan with a 14-day trial, a Diffchecker Legal edition, and an Enterprise edition with SAML SSO, SCIM provisioning, and dedicated support. Pro and Desktop are billed per user per month; Enterprise is billed annually.
