Browsersync
Time-saving synchronised browser testing
Browsersync is an open-source tool built on Node.js that synchronises URLs, interactions and code changes across connected devices and browsers during web testing. It addresses the repetitive manual work involved in checking pages across multiple screens by mirroring scroll, click, refresh and form actions, and by automatically updating browsers when HTML, CSS, images and other project files change. It can run standalone or alongside an existing local server.
Configuration is available through a browser-based UI or the command line, with individual sync settings toggleable to shape a preferred test environment. Features include network throttling, URL history for pushing recorded test URLs to all devices, and file sync. It runs on Windows, MacOS and Linux, and integrates with task runners such as Grunt and Gulp, as well as other Node.js projects. It is released under the Apache 2.0 License and is free to run and reuse.
