CRYENGINE

The complete solution for next generation game development by Crytek

Visit CRYENGINE

CRYENGINE is a real-time game development engine and editor from Crytek for building games for PC and console platforms. It brings rendering, physics, audio, animation, AI and level design tools together in a single environment, with a Sandbox editor that lets creators build and export worlds as they appear in the editor without baking.

Core capabilities include a fully real-time PBR rendering pipeline with voxel-based global illumination, real-time lighting and reflections, particle and vegetation systems, and a built-in physics solution covering destruction, ropes, buoyancy and water simulation. The Sandbox editor provides the Material Editor, FBX support, Trackview cinematic editor, Flowgraph and Substance integration, alongside AI and animation tooling such as multi-layer navigation mesh, parametric skeletal animation and IK solutions. Audio is handled through the Audio Controls Editor and Audio Translation Layer, which supports middleware selection, HRTF spatialization and occlusion. The engine targets PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Oculus, and includes in-game profiling and data-driven thread management.

CRYENGINE is available for free, with a royalty applied to shipped projects once annual revenue per project passes a stated threshold. An enterprise option is offered for teams needing additional support, and an asset database provides downloadable sample projects and assets.
