Blender

Create 3D art, animation, and VFX with free open-source Blender

Visit Blender

Blender is a free, open source 3D creation suite covering the full production pipeline: modeling, sculpting, animation and rigging, simulation, rendering, compositing, motion tracking, video editing and game asset creation. It is a community project coordinated by the Blender Foundation, primarily funded by donations, and licensed under the GNU General Public License, which permits use for any purpose including commercial and educational work. It runs on Linux, Windows and macOS.

Its feature set includes the Cycles path-tracing render engine with CPU and GPU rendering, PBR shaders and HDR lighting; modeling, sculpting and UV tools; animation and rigging with curve editors and dope sheets; story artist drawing in 3D; VFX with camera and object tracking, masking and compositing; simulation libraries including Bullet and MantaFlow; a video editor; and an extensive Python API for scripting and add-ons. The interface layout, colors and shortcuts are customizable, and community add-ons extend functionality. Blender 5.2 LTS introduces node-based physics, remote asset libraries and a Cycles texture cache.

Blender is suited to individuals and small studios working within a unified pipeline, and is used across design, development and artistic roles. The software itself is available at no cost under the GPL; Blender Studio separately offers subscription-based access to production knowledge and assets.
