Stencyl

Make iPhone, iPad, Android, and Flash games without code.

Visit Stencyl

Stencyl is a game creation tool for building games for mobile, web and desktop without writing code. It uses a drag-and-drop block-based interface inspired by MIT Scratch, with a scene designer for building worlds and an actor editor for characters. Advanced users can extend the engine with code, import libraries and create custom blocks. Games can be published to iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and HTML5.

The Scene Designer provides selection, zooming, grid-snapping and flood fill tools for assembling worlds from Actors, Tiles and Terrain, while the Actor Editor handles appearances, behaviors and physical properties. Monetization features include ad support (iAd, AdMob, Newgrounds), in-app purchases for iOS and Android, and third-party plugins for additional functionality.

Stencyl is packaged as annual subscriptions with no royalties: a free Starter edition for individual, personal use that publishes Web/HTML5 games with Stencyl branding and allows testing on paid target platforms, an Indie edition for Web and Desktop publishing, and a Studio edition adding iOS and Android publishing, ad support, leaderboards, in-app purchases and third-party plugins. Student and teacher discounts are available for Studio, with separate pricing for schools.
