Bricksmith
Virtual Lego modeling for your Macintosh
Bricksmith is a free, open-source virtual Lego modeling application for macOS that lets users design models and produce step-by-step building instructions. It draws on the LDraw library, a collection of 3D Lego brick models, so builders can assemble creations without running out of parts.
The application provides drag-and-drop building with a full Lego color palette, support for steps and submodels, undo, cut, copy, and paste, and multiple viewports. It also includes a Minifigure Generator and drag-and-drop flexible element generation. Related tools in the LDraw ecosystem include LPub for printed instructions, LDView for viewing and exporting to POV-Ray, LSynth for flexible hoses, and POV-Ray for rendering.
Bricksmith is aimed at Lego builders who want to design virtual models and document how they are assembled. It is distributed as free, open-source software, available as a complete package including the LDraw part library or as an application-only download for users who already have the library. It runs as a universal binary on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
