Apache ServiceMix
An open-source integration container for connecting applications and services.
Apache ServiceMix is an open-source integration container that combines Apache ActiveMQ, Camel, CXF, and Karaf into a single OSGi-based runtime for building integration solutions. It provides an ESB released under Apache License v2. The project has retired.
Core capabilities include reliable messaging with ActiveMQ, routing and Enterprise Integration Patterns with Camel, and WS-* and RESTful web services with CXF, all running on Karaf. Optional features add a BPM engine via Activiti, JPA support via OpenJPA, XA transaction management via JTA and Aries, and legacy JBI support through the ServiceMix NMR. Applications can be built with OSGi Blueprint, OSGi Declarative Services, or Spring DM (legacy).
ServiceMix is aimed at developers and teams building integration and ESB solutions on an OSGi runtime. It is distributed as open-source software under Apache License v2, with downloads available for the 7.x and 6.x lines; no paid editions, trials, or seat-based plans are described.
