Apache Buildr
Build like you code
Apache Buildr is a build system for Java applications that also supports Scala, Groovy and other JVM languages and tools. It uses Ruby as the build language and is designed to be simple, extensible, fast and reliable, with dependency management. It can serve as a drop-in replacement for Maven 2.0, using the same file layout, artifact specifications, and local and remote repositories, and it can run Ant tasks.
Buildr provides pre-canned tasks for compiling, copying and filtering resources, JUnit and TestNG tests, APT source code generation, Javadoc and more. It supports building large projects from smaller sub-projects, and its dependency mechanism builds only what has changed since the last release. Buildr is Ruby-based, so custom tasks and functions can be written directly without plugin or configuration overhead. The project has retired; details are available on its Attic page.
