Apache Continuum

Continuous integration and build server

Visit Apache Continuum

Apache Continuum is an enterprise-oriented continuous integration and build server that automates builds and supports release management. It provides role-based security and integrates with common build tools and source control management systems, helping teams maintain a consistent build environment whether builds are managed centrally or by developers.

Key capabilities include automated builds, release management, and role-based security. It supports SCM systems such as CVS, Subversion, Git, Clearcase, Perforce, Starteam, Visual Source Safe, CM Synergy, Bazaar, and Mercurial, with change set reporting for each build result. Build tools include Maven, Ant, and shell build types. Builds can be triggered manually, on a schedule, or via push through the XMLRPC API, which also allows external tools to interact with Continuum. Additional features include build templates, a build queue with the ability to interrupt active builds, distributed builds using remote build agents, and parallel builds across multiple queues. Notifications can be sent via mail, Jabber, Google Talk, MSN, and IRC, with report deployment through wagon.

Continuum is intended for teams that need centralized build management or developer-controlled releases. It can be installed as a standalone application or deployed as a WAR in a servlet container. The project was retired in May 2016 and moved to the Apache Attic.
