VanDyke Software provides a suite of desktop clients and a server for secure remote access, terminal emulation, and file transfer. The product line addresses the need for IT professionals to securely connect to and administer remote systems—such as servers, routers, and network services—while maintaining strong encryption and access control. It replaces less secure protocols like Telnet and FTP with modern, encrypted alternatives.
The main products are SecureCRT, SecureFX, and VShell Server. SecureCRT is a customizable terminal emulator supporting SSH, Telnet, Telnet/TLS, and serial protocols, and can transfer files via Xmodem, Zmodem, Ymodem, Kermit, and SFTP. SecureFX is a file transfer client that supports SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, SCP, and FTP, and includes site synchronization and a command-line utility (SFXCL) for scripting unattended transfers. VShell Server is a multi-protocol file transfer server supporting SSH2, SFTP, FTPS, and HTTPS (in the Enterprise edition). All client licenses are cross-platform for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
The software is designed for IT professionals and system administrators in corporate, government, and educational settings. Every release can be evaluated free of charge. Licenses are sold per seat and include one or three years of software updates and support. Client licenses are not platform-specific and can be used on one machine at a time. VShell Server is licensed per concurrent connection, with Workgroup and Enterprise editions available.
