Stellarium is a free open source planetarium for computers that renders a realistic 3D sky as seen with the naked eye, binoculars, or a telescope. It covers stars, deep-sky objects, planets and their satellites, the Milky Way, atmosphere, and constellation figures across many sky cultures, along with phenomena such as eclipses, comets, and supernovae.

Features include a default catalogue of over 600,000 stars with optional extra catalogues, more than 80,000 deep-sky objects, coordinate grids, time control, zoom, fisheye and spheric mirror projections for domes, ocular view simulation, 3D sceneries with skinnable landscapes, and a scripting interface. It provides telescope control, an HTTP interface for web-based and remote control, and a plugin system for adding artificial satellites, ocular simulation, and other extensions. It runs on Linux/Unix, Windows, and macOS.

Stellarium is aimed at amateur and educational astronomy use, including presentations and research contexts. It is distributed as free open source software, with source code available for building development versions.
