Riseup
Online communication tools for people and groups working on liberatory social change
Riseup is a set of online communication tools for people and groups working toward liberatory social change, run by an autonomous collective. It addresses the need for communication infrastructure controlled by movement organizations rather than corporations or governments, with a stated focus on confidentiality: it does not log IP addresses, stores data encrypted, and does not share user data.
Services include email (IMAP) with webmail, VPN, mailing lists for activist organizations, private wikis and group collaboration at we.riseup.net, a real-time collaborative text editor at pad.riseup.net, and file upload including pastebin and imagebin at share.riseup.net. Security resources and tutorials are provided, along with Tor onion service addresses for accessing Riseup services, and a help desk for support tickets.
It is intended for individuals and organizations engaged in social justice and liberation work. Accounts can be requested for email and VPN, and lists can be requested for organizations; the project is funded by donations.
