WhatsApp is a messaging and calling app for phones, desktops, tablets and browsers. It supports one-to-one and group text chats, voice messages, stickers and GIFs, a Status feature for sharing moments, and voice and video calls. Personal messages and calls are end-to-end encrypted.
Group calls support up to 32 participants with no time limit, screen sharing, scheduled calls, silent calls, call reactions, hand raising, and video filters and backgrounds. Calls are available across iOS, Android, Mac, iPad, Windows and the web. Security features include two-step verification, spam detection, account takeover alerts, group controls, reporting and blocking. WhatsApp Business is offered for customer communication.
WhatsApp is intended for personal communication, with a separate WhatsApp Business offering for organizations. The app is available at no cost, though data charges may apply from a mobile provider.
