RERO ILS

Open source integrated library system developed by RERO+ with UCLouvain

Visit RERO ILS

RERO ILS is an open source library management system developed by RERO in collaboration with the Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain). It is intended to replace the current system as part of the RERO 21 project, which aims to provide services across Switzerland. The system is multilingual, using the MEF (Multilingual Entity File) solution based on authority data and Linked Data to display data in several languages.

Cataloging in RERO ILS replaces MARC with fields labeled in natural language and adopts RDA, along with a multilingual authority file developed by RERO+ that builds on VIAF. The system supports authority data from IdRef, GND, and RERO RAMEAU, and is developed with input from the RERO+ and UCLouvain teams. Releases are published on GitHub, with translation processes handled by the community.

RERO ILS is aimed at libraries, including those transitioning from an existing system under the RERO 21 project. It is distributed as open source software; no pricing, plans, or trial details are stated on these pages.
