Reflect
An open-source note-taking app with daily notes, backlinks, and local Markdown files.
Reflect is an open-source note-taking app for capturing ideas, organizing thoughts through backlinks, and keeping notes as local Markdown files. It supports daily notes, web clips, audio memos, and a Chrome extension for saving links, text, and screenshots with source context. Notes can be synced via iCloud Drive or Git, and the app runs on Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
Core features include a backlinked note graph, instant capture, search, and an optional AI assistant that answers questions with links to source notes, summarizes text, extracts key takeaways and action items, improves writing, transcribes voice notes, and supports custom prompts. AI requires a user-provided API key, with usage billed separately by the provider. Notes marked private are excluded from AI access.
Reflect Open is free on Mac with no subscription required. The iPhone and iPad apps are paid subscriptions, with pricing shown on the App Store. Reflect Classic remains maintained, and paid Classic subscribers receive one year of the iPhone and iPad app free.
