Prisma

Agent Infrastructure for TypeScript

Visit Prisma

Prisma is a TypeScript application platform combining a type-safe ORM, a managed Postgres database, and app hosting so that a single stack handles data modeling, deployment, and iteration. The data model is defined once in contract.prisma and serves as the shared contract for the ORM, migrations, and data layer, while a CLI and Management API let coding agents run the full build, deploy, debug, and redeploy loop.

Its components include Prisma ORM, a free and open-source type-safe schema layer; Prisma Postgres, managed Postgres co-located with hosting and featuring per-branch databases and Query Insights; and Prisma Compute, TypeScript app hosting on a Bun runtime with versioned deployments, preview URLs, and git-push or CLI deploys. Prisma Studio provides a visual data browser and editor in the Console, and the CLI and Management API offer structured output and JSON modes with full parity between the two.

Prisma targets developers and teams building TypeScript apps, including side projects through larger-scale products. Prisma ORM is free and open source. Prisma Postgres and Prisma Compute are offered on a free plan with no credit card required, plus paid plans (Starter, Pro, Business) with usage-based pricing on requests, memory, CPU, bandwidth, database operations, and storage, along with spend limits on paid tiers. Custom pricing is available for high-volume teams, and compliance features such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 appear on higher tiers.
