PhantomJS
Scriptable Headless Browser
PhantomJS is a headless web browser scriptable with JavaScript, designed for tasks that need to load and interact with web pages without a visible browser window. It runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, and FreeBSD, using QtWebKit as its back-end to support web standards including DOM handling, CSS selectors, JSON, Canvas, and SVG. Development is currently suspended until further notice.
It supports page automation through the standard DOM API or libraries such as jQuery, screen capture of web content including SVG and Canvas, and headless functional testing with frameworks like Jasmine, QUnit, Mocha, and WebDriver. It can also monitor page loading and export HAR files, and automate performance analysis with tools such as YSlow and Jenkins. PhantomJS is distributed under the BSD license, with source code and documentation available through its GitHub repository.
