Open Collective

Open Collective is a financial coordination platform for organizations, collectives, groups, and projects that need to raise and spend money transparently. Because collectives do not hold funds directly, an Organization acting as a Host receives and holds contributions on their behalf, providing legal status and fiscal sponsorship to groups without their own legal identity. Public ledgers make budgets and money movement visible.

The platform includes crowdfunding pages, expense management, payouts through Wise and PayPal, a chart of accounts, antifraud security checks, tax forms, bank account synchronization, funds and grants tracking, and agreements. Hosts can charge hosting fees and manage expected funds. The platform is stewarded by the Open Finance Consortium, a nonprofit, with fiscal hosts operating in the United States, Europe, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.

Pricing applies to Organizations and is structured in tiers—Discover, Basic, and Pro—scaled by the number of active collectives and paid expenses processed each month, with additional usage charged per collective and per expense. Collectives are not subject to this pricing and use the platform free of charge, supported by optional Platform Tips or an alternative crowdfunding fee.
