Meteorologist
The weatherman without the man — hyperlocal, automated weather forecasts.
Meteorologist is a free weather program for macOS that lets users view weather for multiple locations at once, with interlaced reports from different places. It pulls data from a range of weather providers and displays current conditions, forecasts, and radar imagery.
The app supports sources including Apple WeatherKit, NOAA, Environment Canada, OpenWeatherMap, TomorrowIO, Wunderground, and Visual Crossing, along with RainViewer radar maps. Features include an unlimited number of weather stations, hourly and extended forecasts, sunrise and sunset times, weather alerts with an optional ThunderClap sound, a Dock temperature display, and background weather images. The interface was rewritten from AppKit to SwiftUI, and the app is available in English, German, and Spanish.
Meteorologist is aimed at macOS users who want detailed, multi-location weather information in a menu bar app. It is distributed as a free download, with a separate Meteorologist Classic edition maintained for older macOS versions. The current release requires macOS 14 or later.
