Memos
Your own timeline for quick notes, private by default.
Memos is a self-hosted, open-source note-taking app that stores notes as timeline entries in a database you control. Notes are written in Markdown, new notes are private by default, and visibility can be set per note. It runs as a single binary or Docker container with SQLite, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
Features include Markdown notes with code highlighting, tables, task lists, math, and diagrams, plus attachments, tags, search and filters, a calendar view, and a timeline view. Sharing options cover public links, Spaces, reactions, and comments. Quick capture is available through a Web Clipper and Telegram, and REST and gRPC APIs support custom integrations. Memos runs on Linux, macOS, Windows, Docker, and Kubernetes, and exports data as a ZIP of Markdown and JSON.
Memos is aimed at individuals and teams who want to keep notes on infrastructure they control. It is distributed under the MIT license with no subscription, seat, or usage fees; hosting costs depend on the provider or hardware you choose.
