Marmoset Toolbag is a creative software package for 3D artists that combines texture baking, texturing and painting, and rendering in a single application. It addresses the need to move between separate tools for baking maps, painting materials, and producing renders, covering workflows for games, film, product visualization, and related fields. The current version is Toolbag 5.03.
The software includes a lightweight editor, real-time baking tools for producing maps, Texture Projects for painting physically accurate materials, and ray-traced and raster renderers. An integrated Library provides materials, textures, brushes, and other assets, while the WebGL-powered Marmoset Viewer allows interactive scenes to be exported, uploaded, and shared. Version 5.03 adds Text and Scatter Layers, IES Profiles, and SpaceMouse support.
Toolbag is aimed at individual artists as well as studios and academic institutions, with dedicated licensing options for each. A free, fully featured 30-day trial is available after creating an account and installing the software. Licenses are offered as individual, studio, and academic editions, each available as a subscription or a perpetual option; studio and academic licenses are seat-based, and subscriptions include upgrades while perpetual licenses cover only version 5.x updates.
