MacDown
The open source Markdown editor for macOS
MacDown is an open source Markdown editor for macOS, released under the MIT License. It provides a live preview alongside the editor, using Hoedown to render Markdown into HTML. The rendering is configurable through a Preferences pane and supports non-standard syntax, including fenced code blocks with language identifiers.
Additional rendering tools include TeX-like math syntax, GFM task lists, and Jekyll front-matter. Fenced code blocks are syntax highlighted with Prism, and the editor offers auto-completion that can be disabled. MacDown is available as a download or through Homebrew Cask.
