InvenTree is an open-source inventory management system built with Python and Django, storing data in a relational database and serving it through a web browser. It addresses parts management and stock control for small and medium-sized businesses and hobbyist applications, maintaining stock tracking history and providing access to current stock level information.

Core capabilities include structured part categories, supplier management, stock organized in cascading locations with serialized item tracking and test results, bill of materials management, build order tracking with automatic or manual stock allocation, and custom report templates. The system runs on a RESTful API with a native Python binding library for external integrations, and can be extended through a plugin system covering barcodes, label printing, notifications, currency exchange, and data export. A mobile app is also available.

InvenTree is packaged as open-source software with flexible installation options, including Docker, an installer, and bare-metal setups. Pricing features support multiple currencies with configurable exchange rates, line item discounts, and extra line items for costs such as freight or service fees.
