Haven
Self-host a private blog and feed reader
Haven is an open-source private website that runs on a server you control. It is designed for sharing posts and images with a chosen group of people rather than publishing to the open web; there is no option to make a Haven blog public. Posts are written in Markdown, with image upload support and a live preview, and access is limited to accounts you create. HTTPS encryption is used between visitors and the server, and the site includes no advertising or web tracking.
The platform combines a private blog with a built-in RSS reader. You can follow external websites and other Haven users through a personal feed, and each user receives a private RSS link. Posts can be published by multiple users, with subscriber and publisher roles, and the site's CSS can be edited within the application. Image compression is applied while the original upload is retained. Haven can be deployed on Amazon AWS or a Raspberry Pi, with automatic nightly backups available through the AWS deployment scripts or the hosting service.
Haven is intended for individuals, families, and small groups who want a private, self-hosted publishing space. It is free to run on your own server, and managed hosting is offered on a dedicated virtual server for a monthly fee. A free demo is available without a credit card.
