Grav
A CMS for humans and agents
Grav is an open source flat-file content management system that stores content as Markdown and YAML files rather than in a database. It is designed for sites where content should remain portable, version-controllable with Git, and deployable without database setup. Grav 2 extends this foundation with a first-party REST API, a native MCP server for AI agents, and a rebuilt single-page admin.
The platform runs on PHP 8.3+ with Symfony 7 and Twig 3. Admin 2.0 is built on SvelteKit 5, Vite, and Tailwind 4, offering a customizable dashboard, real-time collaborative editing, a CodeMirror editor, and Uppy-powered media handling. The REST API covers pages, media, users, plugins, themes, and configuration, with token authentication, permission-aware access, plugin-extensible endpoints, and OpenAPI documentation. The MCP server exposes the same API and permission model to AI agents. Additional capabilities include multi-language support, modular pages, taxonomies, image processing, SEO tools, a CLI, and a plugin ecosystem. Premium plugins such as AI Pro, AI Translate, YetiSearch Pro, Editor Pro, SEO Magic, and Revisions Pro are available separately, along with the Helios documentation theme and related bundles. Grav itself is free and open source, with paid premium extensions and professional services offered by the team behind it.
