FontForge
A free and open-source outline font editor
FontForge is a free and open source font editor for designing and editing typefaces. It is maintained by a community of contributors and accepts financial donations to support the project. The project provides installation guides for Windows, Mac OS, and GNU+Linux, along with documentation and a recommended starting point, Design With FontForge.
The project includes command-line utilities such as fontlint, sfddiff, fontimage, and acorn2sfd, as well as scripting support through Python and a native scripting reference. It also publishes a specification for the SFD file format, a scripting tutorial, and a glossary. Support is available through documentation, a mailing list, and community channels. FontForge is distributed under the project license, and contributions are welcomed from non-programmers as well as developers.
