FontLab
Font editors and converters for Mac and Windows
FontLab is a suite of desktop applications for creating, editing and converting fonts on Mac and Windows. FontLab 8, the main editor, covers the process from initial design through spacing, kerning and hinting, and supports OpenType, variable, color and web fonts across Unicode writing systems including Latin, Greek, Arabic, Indic, Chinese, emoji and symbols. It can also convert between font formats and extend existing families with new weights and styles.
Alongside FontLab 8, the lineup includes TransType 5 for converting fonts between PostScript- and TrueType-flavored OpenType, generating CSS @font-face web fonts (EOT, WOFF, WOFF2), fixing family linking, and making variable font instances available system-wide; Vexy Lines for tracing pixel images into vector artwork with Linear, Wave, Circular and Halftone shading; and TypeTool, a simpler editor for Windows aimed at beginners. Classic tools such as Fontographer, FontLab Studio 5 and BitFonter are also listed.
FontLab 8 is available as a lifetime license or a three-month Starter edition, with student and teacher options and upgrades from other font editors. TransType 5 and Vexy Lines are sold as separate products, FontLab Pad is free, and education discounts are offered for students, teachers and academic institutions.
