Enigmail

A simple interface for OpenPGP email security

Visit Enigmail

Enigmail is a security add-on for SeaMonkey and Epyrus that brings OpenPGP email protection into the mail client. It addresses the risk of unencrypted messages being read by anyone or any system that handles them, allowing users to encrypt outgoing mail so only the intended recipient can open it. Enigmail was originally developed for Mozilla Thunderbird, which is no longer supported.

The add-on lets users encrypt and digitally sign outgoing messages, and decrypt and verify incoming ones, all through an interface integrated with the mail client. It is free software distributed under the Mozilla Public License, and can be freely used, modified and distributed. The project provides downloads, source code, nightly builds, a changelog, documentation including a user manual and quick start guide, and support through forums and defect reporting.
