Visit EmEditor

EmEditor is a text editor for Windows designed for code, CSV data, and very large files. It addresses the need to open and work with files that can reach 16 TB or 1,099 billion lines while using limited memory. The editor supports Unicode, macros, and plug-ins, and is developed and maintained by Emurasoft, Inc., based in Redmond, Washington.

The product includes text editing features such as multiple selection editing, vertical editing, regular expressions, batch replace, document comparison, and syntax highlighting. CSV tools cover conversion, sorting, pivoting, joining, column extraction, and duplicate-line removal. Large-file handling includes a Large File Controller, file splitting and combining, and multithreaded performance. Extensibility comes through scriptable macros, external tool integration, and plug-ins including Snippets, Projects, Search, Word Complete, Word Count, and Web Preview. AI-assisted writing and an AI Toolbar are available with the ChatAI plug-in. The editor runs on Windows 11 and Windows 10.

EmEditor is offered in Free and Professional editions, with a 7-day Professional trial that converts to the Free edition without automatic charges. Installer, portable, and Store app versions are available. It is intended for programmers, HTML designers, editors, database administrators, and server administrators working with code, CSV data, or large text and log files.
