Bare Bones Software

Stronger. Faster. Better.

Visit Bare Bones Software

Bare Bones Software develops applications for macOS and iOS, with products focused on text editing and personal information management. Its lineup includes BBEdit, a professional HTML and text editor for macOS, and Yojimbo, an information organizer for Mac and iPad. The company also notes that TextWrangler has been sunsetted in favor of BBEdit, which retains the same free feature set TextWrangler offered.

BBEdit provides tools for editing, searching, and manipulating text, and is available as a free download with additional functionality through purchase. Yojimbo organizes everyday information on Mac and iPad, with a companion Yojimbo for iPad app that syncs over WiFi from Yojimbo for macOS, which is required and sold separately. Products are distributed through the company's own store and the Mac App Store, and multi-user licenses are available.
