CrowdSec
Crowd-powered threat intelligence with curated IP blocklists
CrowdSec is a collaborative threat intelligence platform that collects signals about aggressive IP addresses from real production machines operated by its users, curates them, and delivers them as blocklists and IP reputation data. This helps organizations preemptively block malicious IPs before they reach their infrastructure, reducing alert noise from mass scanners and zero-day exploiters.
The core detection component is the CrowdSec Security Engine, open-source software that runs on the customer's infrastructure and is OS and infrastructure-agnostic. It integrates with a wide range of tools including firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Sophos, Juniper), WAFs (AWS WAF, Cloudflare, GCP Cloud Armor), reverse proxies (Nginx, HAProxy, Traefik, Caddy), SIEMs (Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar), and platforms like WordPress, Drupal, and Magento. Additional products include the CrowdSec Console, IP Reputation, Blocklists, and Live Exploit Tracker, with an AI-powered threat intelligence report available through Microsoft Copilot for Security.
CrowdSec is aimed at sysadmins, DevOps, and SecOps teams across organizations of varying sizes. The Security Engine is open-source and free, while blocklists and IP reputation data are accessed through the CrowdSec Console using a service API key.
