NextDNS is a DNS-level service that blocks security threats, ads, and trackers across websites and apps, while providing supervised Internet access for children on any device or network. It works through encrypted DNS protocols (DNS-over-HTTPS and DNS-over-TLS) and operates at the DNS level rather than on individual devices, so it does not consume device CPU, memory, or battery.
Core capabilities include threat protection against malware, phishing, cryptojacking, and other malicious domains using real-time threat intelligence feeds; ad and tracker blocking with blocklists and Native Tracking Protection; parental controls with SafeSearch, YouTube Restricted Mode, category blocking, and scheduled access times; and analytics with configurable log retention and data residency options. Additional features include unlimited configurations, custom denylist/allowlist, DNS rewrites, DNSSEC validation, and support for major platforms.
NextDNS offers a free plan with a monthly query quota, unlimited devices, and unlimited configurations, alongside paid Pro, Business, and Education editions that provide unlimited queries and email support. Business and Education plans are priced per employee or student.
