CleanBrowsing

CleanBrowsing is a DNS filtering service that blocks malicious domains and unwanted content categories at the DNS level, before requests reach the network. It is designed for families, schools, libraries, businesses, Wi-Fi providers, transportation networks, municipalities, and retail environments that need to enforce content policies without installing software on every device. The service also supports encrypted DNS protocols and can be configured on routers or individual devices.

Key capabilities include DNS-based protection against malware, phishing, and command-and-control traffic; predefined filtering categories for adult content, gambling, gaming, social networks, and torrents; SafeSearch enforcement on Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and YouTube; custom allow and block lists; device profiles for assigning different rules to groups; activity monitoring through a dashboard; and configurable log retention. The platform supports DoH, DoT, and DNSCrypt, uses an anycast network, and offers an RPZ feed of malicious domains for integration with security tools. Setup is available on iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows, and the service can be configured on any router that supports DNS changes.

CleanBrowsing offers tiered plans for families, schools and libraries, and organizations, with limits on devices, requests, networks, profiles, and custom domain lists. A custom tier is available for larger deployments, and a partner program for managed service providers includes a centralized management console. Self-service plans are billed monthly or yearly without a trial period.
