Cronicle

Lightweight distributed task scheduler and job runner

Visit Cronicle

Cronicle is a multi-server task scheduler and runner with a web-based front-end UI, written in Node.js and released under the MIT license. It handles scheduled, repeating, and on-demand jobs across any number of slave servers, with real-time stats and a live log viewer. It requires no database, storing everything as JSON files on disk.

Features include a visual date/time picker for scheduling events, customizable run modes, auto-discovery of nearby servers with auto-failover, and automatic job retries. Jobs can be chained together to trigger sequential runs with custom data passed between them. CPU and memory usage are tracked automatically, with historical graphs and user-defined performance metrics. A plugin API allows plugins written in any language with a simple JSON system and custom UI controls. Multiple timezone support, an external JSON REST API with API keys, webhooks for notifications, and email alerts on job completion are also available.

Cronicle is open source and MIT licensed, with source code available on GitHub. Installation uses a single command auto-install script with dependencies as npm packages.
