Visit chrony

chrony is an implementation of the Network Time Protocol that synchronises a system clock with NTP servers, reference clocks such as GPS receivers, or manual input. It can also operate as an NTPv4 server or peer, providing time to other machines on a network. It is designed to work under conditions including intermittent connections, congested networks, temperature-sensitive clocks, systems that do not run continuously, and virtual machines.

The software includes chronyd, a daemon started at boot, and chronyc, a command-line interface for monitoring chronyd's performance and adjusting its parameters while it runs. It is known to work on Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, macOS, and illumos. chrony is distributed under the GNU General Public License version 2.
