code_aster
Open-source finite element solver for structural mechanics, thermal analysis and dynamics
A research code developed by EDF R&D over more than 35 years that is used both for developing new calculation methods and for engineering studies. It is written in Python and C++, interfaces with solvers such as MUMPS and PETSC, and is distributed under the GNU GPL licence. Salome-Meca provides an integrated environment with geometry, meshing, calculation and post-processing, including the AsterStudy graphical interface.
