010 Editor is a text and hex editor for working with text files, binary files, drives, and processes. Its Binary Templates parse files into hierarchical structures, making complex binary data easier to understand and edit than raw hex bytes. The tool supports digital forensics, reverse engineering, and data recovery tasks, including low-level drive editing and process analysis.
Key capabilities include real-time syntax parsing with Tree-sitter across many languages, column mode editing, and support for very large files. Analysis tools cover find and replace, binary comparison, checksum and hash computation, disassembly for multiple processor architectures, and a histogram tool. A scripting system with over 350 functions automates editing operations, with command-line batch processing and an integrated debugger.
