Zentyal Server is a Linux server product designed to fit into Windows-based IT environments, providing directory and domain services with native compatibility with Microsoft Active Directory, along with mail, network gateway, and infrastructure services. It is built on Ubuntu Server and managed through a graphical interface.

Its modules cover directory and domain management (Samba, GPOs, Single Sign-On), mail and groupware (Postfix, Dovecot, SOGo with webmail, calendars, and ActiveSync), network and gateway services (Netfilter firewall, Squid HTTP proxy, Suricata IDS/IPS, FreeRADIUS), and infrastructure services (BIND DNS, ISC DHCP, OpenSSL CA, OpenVPN, Libvirt/KVM virtualization, and Duplicity backup). Maintenance features include real-time alerts, daily reports, and software and security updates.

Zentyal is available as a free, community-supported Development Edition for organizations with in-house skills, and as commercial editions with vendor-certified support. Commercial licensing is per server with no client access licenses, offered as annual subscriptions or lifetime licenses across editions sized by user count, with support tickets available on demand. A free 15-day trial of the commercial edition is offered, along with training courses and certification.
